New polishes + swatches

Whenever I go to the mall or any cosmetic store, I always check if they have nail polishes. If they have, I check the price, then I try to chose the colors I want that would also fit my budget. Haha. I definitely don't want to use all my money on polishes, though it's very tempting. I stopped buying Etude House and Skin Food polishes because they are a bit expensive for me and they only have a few colors available in our area. In a local convenience store called NCCC Express, I was able to buy 5 polishes. They are cheap but still of good quality. I was actually shocked that they were selling it at a low price. Maybe no one's buying it? More polishes for me then. :)

These are the polishes I bought. I recently just found out about LA Colors. Some people don't like it because for them it easily chips off. I used the blue polish for my spider-man nail art and I'm glad to say that it is still intact. I actually like LA Colors. It's a cheap polish with good quality. Of course, you can't compare it to expensive polishes like OPI, Essie and China Glaze. But for its price, it is actually pretty good.

The other two polishes at the right most are of different brands. It supposed to be sold at around $4. But this shop was only selling it for around $2. I guess no one was buying it so they decided to sell it at a lower price. Haha. Pretty good deal for me. These two colors should be used on top of an opaque polish to see its "flakie" effect. I love how shimmery and glittery it is.

These are the swatches I made. It was wrong for me to use white as the base coat for the last two polishes. The "rock star" effect of the polishes could not be appreciated. But those two polishes are really good if you're into glittering polishes.

That's it for my haul this week. :)

Anyway, before I end this post, I would like to ask for your help. I joined a nail art contest by BornPrettyStore. I was hoping you could vote for me by commenting #12 (that's my entry number) in their blog post (Click HERE). My entries are the leopard nail art and the flower nail art. I hope you will vote for me. It would really mean a lot to me. Pretty please? Thank you! :)

NOTD: Spider-man

The Amazing Spider-man will be on theaters in the Philippines tomorrow, June 29, and I'm definitely watching it. Of course, I have to do my spidey mani as well to match the occasion. For this nail art, I used nail polish and acrylic paint. From now on, I will use both nail polish and acrylics in my nail arts. I definitely don't want to waste my nail polishes.

I still haven't painted my right hand. I won't be able to draw the same design using my non-dominant hand so I'll just improvise. I might just use red, black and metallic blue nail polish to match Spider-man's color.

I hope you like this nail art. :) Let me know what you think. :)

Avengers Shoes

For my boyfriend's 21st birthday, I ordered a pair of hand painted shoes from Gecco's crafts. I love how the shoes turned out. By the way, his birthday was last April 15. I know this post is a bit late but it's better to be late than never, right?
Gicoy (owner of the shop) is really nice. He's very accommodating. He agreed to make these shoes despite his busy schedule. I just gave him a picture of my desired design and viola! He's really good and you can obviously see it in his finish products. The best thing about Gecco's crafts is the price. It is really cheap but the quality is really good. I have searched for shops who also do hand painted shoes but they charge you too much. I really recommend this shop if you want to have your own personalized shoes. :)

If you want to order something, just go to their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Geccos-Crafts/191519377604759

Nail art: Ribbon Cake

I painted my nails again. This time I waited for it to dry before I started doing things. I'm happy to say that it's still in tact. I noticed that I seem to paint a lot of ribbons lately. What's with all these ribbons?

I still put glitters on certain parts of the nail art because I want it to shimmer. I'm so bad at drawing ribbons. T_T I should practice more.

My inspiration for this nail art is a dress from www.oasap.com. Here's the picture of the dress. :)

I hope you like this nail art. :) Let me know what you think. :)

Nail Art: Stripes and Ribbons

Last night, I was searching the internet for inspiration for my next nail art design. I went to different websites related to nail art. However, I didn't want to do a nail art which is similar to others. Of course, I want to be unique. I, then, realized that there are many things could serve as my inspiration. For the time being, my inspiration would be dresses.

Oasap is an online store which sells fashion items. They have a huge collection of pretty dresses. I may buy one once I have enough money. In the meantime, I'll browse their dresses to find some inspiration.

This is my nail art for today. It is actually inspired by Oasap's dress (photo below). I changed the color of the ribbon to add contrast to it and added glitter to some parts of it.

I like how this nail art turned out. However, it only lasted me about 3 hours because I kept on moving. Stupid girl. I'm not really sad because I have another design in mind.

On another side, I'm looking for this brush. It's a LA CORNEILLE GOLDEN TAKLON MINI SPOTTER BRUSH 7650. Someone told me that it can be bought in Michaels Arts and Crafts store. Sadly, we don't have that in the Philippines. I really want this brush. It would do me wonders for my future nail art designs.
If your are near any Michaels store, please contact me. :)

Hello Kitty Waffle Maker

It has been a while since I've made a Hello Kitty post. My mom bought pancake mix the other day so I decided to make waffles - Hello Kitty waffles. I prepared the waffle maker and the necessary ingredients. This waffle maker has been with us for years. I forgot how long. Maybe around 10 years? Amazingly, it still works. Talk about quality, eh?

I just used the regular pancake mix that can be bought in the supermarket so I won't dwell on that anymore. Let's move on with the pictures.

This is what it looks like from the outside. The orange circle in her ribbon lights up. I don't know what it indicates since I don't understand Japanese. Haha.

This is what it looks like from the inside. It's really fun to make this especially if your a die-hard Hello Kitty fan (like my mom). It's already dirty and oily since I took this photo after I was done making the waffles. Always remember to brush it with butter or margarine to prevent the pancake from sticking and for you to easily remove the finished product.

First try! I placed too much. Now, Kitty has an extra ear. Haha.

These are the finished products. I know they look weird with all the patches. I don't know why it's like that. Nevertheless, they still taste and look good.

I hope you enjoyed reading this Hello Kitty post. Here's a waffle for you! :)

Nail Art: Rockband

I just want to keep myself busy so I'm here again with another nail art - Rock band. I'm really a fan of this game. Since I don't know how to play any musical instrument, this game gives me the satisfaction of playing a musical instrument. I got the Wii version of Rockband as a gift from my dad. My sisters and I were so excited to play it. Sadly, I'm bad at playing the guitar because my fingers won't listen to me. In the end, I chose to play the drums. Sometimes, I use the mic and sing. It's really a fun game for those who love music.

Here's the nail art.

I decided to paint it directly on my nails. I miss having painted nails.

Let me know what you think. :)

Nail art: Random Scribbles

Last night, I wasn't feeling well. I was very sad so I decided to do a nail art. However, my mind was blank. I didn't know where to begin. After minutes of staring on the empty false nails, I ended up doing some random scribbles and swirls. This nail art is different from my usual nail arts. I'm really sorry for that. I just wasn't feeling well. Hopefully, I'll be okay in the next days.

I'll post another nail art design once I've recovered.

Nail art: Flower Power

I've been watching tutorials on Youtube on the one stroke technique. It looked easy to do. However, it wasn't close to easy. I had to practice it over and over again but I still couldn't do it properly. This is the best that I could do. I know it's ugly so please bear with me. It's my first time to do this. I can't seem to put the right amount of paint on my brush. It's either too much or too little. Nevertheless, I'm still proud of this. Haha. You have to love your own work. :)

This nail art is a combination of flowers and butterflies and some random dots.

It looks so messy. T_T *sniff*

Let me know what you think. :)

Nail art: Leopard

Leopard nails are pretty easy to do. You can find a lot of videos on Youtube on how to do it so I'm not going to make a tutorial of it anymore. Since I found it boring and too generic, I decided to make my own version of leopard nails. I still made use of the dotting tool technique for the leopard prints but I just spiced it up - I painted a leopard.

Let me know what you think of this nail art. :) Thank you for reading!

Nail art: Chobits

I'm finally done with the Chobits nail art. However, I decided to just do one half of the fake nail set because I don't know what else to paint for the other set. I'm not really familiar with this anime but I had fun painting it. Chii, the main character, is so pretty.

For this nail art, I decided to use acrylics and nail polish. I used acrylics for the characters, the letters and the Japanese characters. For the lace design, I used pink, silver and white nail polish. If you'd like me to do a tutorial for the lace nail art, just tell me and I'll do a separate post for that. :)

Before I proceed with the pictures of the Chobits nail art, I would just like to thank all my followers. I now have 115 followers. Yay! :) Thank you so much! I promise to update this blog frequently. :)

Okay. Enough yapping. :) Here are the photos:

I just decided to paint two characters since they are the main characters. Haha. Excuses. I'm just lazy. :)

Anyway, for the information of everyone, I don't wear any of my creations. They are just left on my working area untouched. I'm thinking of selling my nail arts. Anyone interested? :)

Thanks for reading! :) Please do tell me what you think of this nail art.

Nail art: Hello Kitty and Friends

Hey there! I'm here again with another nail art post. In my previous nail art post, someone ask me to do a nail art of Hello Kitty and friends. I was reluctant to do it at first because Sanrio characters are very difficult to draw. They look simple and easy but one wrong placement of the eye or a small mistake in the shape of the face changes everything. I'm not really proud of this nail art. I really did my best but some characters including Hello Kitty turned out bad. :( I'm always having difficulty with her ears. I can't get her ear right. *sniff*

My Melody is so ugly. :(

Someone also asked me to do a Chobits nail art. :) I'm still practicing. I can already draw her in my sketchpad but not on nails. Haha.

Let me know what you think of this nail art. :D

Pet post: My guinea pig

I'm still painting my next nail art so I just wanted to share to you a photo of my pet guinea pig. Her name is Name. I know it sounds stupid. My boyfriend and I bought her and he was the one who named her. She is so cute. She likes to eat veggies and she cries when I'm about to feed her. In this photo, she is in her Hello Kitty basket. So cute. :)

Nail Art: Kim Possible

Kim Possible is one of my favorite Disney characters. I'm not really sure if the series already ended but when I was browsing the channels one day, the show was on air on Disney channel. I was so excited to watch it again. After the show, I decided to make a nail art dedicated to the show.

Now, for the close up...
Please forgive my ugly polished thumb. I placed the watermark there to somehow hide it. Haha.

Let me know what you think about this nail art. :)

Nail Art: Sailor Moon

I'm finally done with my Sailor Moon nail art. It took me a few days because I kept on stopping. I was too lazy. But I was still able to finish it. I only know Sailor Moon. I don't know the names of the other characters. Haha. Sorry for that. But I was really a fan of this anime when I was young.

Here are close up photos of the nail art. :)

My boyfriend told me to draw the cat for the 6th nail but I was too tired. I just decided to paint the different colors representing the 5 of them.

I hope you like this nail art. :) Let me know in the comments below. :) Thank you for reading!

Nail art: Alice in Wonderland

I decided to make a nail art of Alice in Wonderland. It was supposed to be just the Mad Hatter but I just decided to paint Alice, the cheshire cat, the red queen and the rabbit. I also painted some random things like roses, mushrooms and cards.

I really like how the Mad Hatter turned out. However, I pretty much hate cheshire cat. He turned out ugly. Too ugly. I'm so sorry cheshire cat. *sniff* My mom said Alice turned out pretty well. She likes her eyes.

For the other half, I painted the Red Queen, the rabbit and some random cards. I was too lazy to paint another face. Haha.

Let me know what you think. :) Please also comment on what nail art I should do next. I'll try my best to make it. :D

Nail Art: Naruto (Part 2)

My mom and I went to National Bookstore yesterday and bought these. Yay for new paint! :) As I've said in my previous post, some of my acrylics are already dry and separated so I decided to buy a new one. I also bought a new sketchpad. Hooray for more sketches! :)

I didn't get to finish my Naruto Nail art in my previous post because it was difficult to work with old paint. Anyway, after buying my new set of acrylics, I decided to finish it. So here is the finished product. :)

Sasori, Sasuke and Sai as requested by my friend Joey :)

Naruto title, symbols of the 7 villages

I'll be making another nail art today. Alice in Wonderland maybe? :) Anyway, let me know what you think of this. :) Thanks for reading!
