Pink Waterfall

Merry Christmas everyone! :) I don't have time to make a Christmas nail art so this one is not season-related.

Almost everyone who is into nail art knows Sammy from The Nailasaurus. She makes amazing nail arts that are easy to recreate.

I have seen the waterfall effect in many of her posts. I was so happy when she did a tutorial of the waterfall effect. I finally decided to do it since her tutorial seemed easy, and it was. :) But of course, my recreation is not perfect. Thank you, Sammy, for posting an amazing tutorial. :)

Cupcake Frosting

Before I started this blog, I have already started reading some blogs about nails, nail polishes and nail arts. The first blog I stumbled upon was Cosmetic Cupcake. It's owned by 'chelle who lives in Australia. She makes the cutest nail arts and her photos of her nails are really beautiful. Plus, I really love her nails - very fit for doing nail arts. :)

Days ago, she posted on her blog that she was the one who created the shade Frosting from piCture pOlish. When I read that, I immediately went to Polish Please and bought a bottle. That made me a very happy fan girl. Yaay! :)

This nail art is actually inspired by (or a recreation ofCosmetic Cupcake's new post. :)

Silver Kisses

Hi!

This nail art is one of the few nail arts I did during my busy days. I used China Glaze Holly-day and stamped it with kisses or lips images from my OB plates.

Sandy Tiffany

Happy holidays everyone! :)

Exams are finally over and I can now paint my nails. For the past weeks, I have just been buying different polishes to help me cope with my stress. I did make a few nail arts but I didn't post them because I ended up destroying them when I was sleeping.

In this current nail art, I used Zoya Pixie Dust in Nyx for my ring and pinky finger. I am in love with this polish. It has a very beautiful sand texture with glitters. I want to buy more of Zoya's Pixiedust collection! :D

For my index and middle fingers, I used China Glaze For Audrey as base and stamped some images from OB plates. I'm so bad with stamping. Haha. I'm still getting the hang of it. One of these days, I'll learn how to stamp properly.

A house for your furry friend

I LOOOOOVE MY GUINEA PIG. I spoil her with food and love. I even brought her here to Manila because I couldn't leave her in Davao. :) Haha. Anyway, I've been searching many times for fleece blankets and tunnels but I couldn't find any. Then, one night, I saw someone who makes those stuff. She, however, told me that she couldn't take orders as oft he moment so she referred me to another seller - Pinoy Pet Cuddle Cup.

I checked their facebook page and I was so happy to see that they make tunnels, tents and liners for guinea pigs. :)  The owner of the shop, Rey, also takes custom orders for other pets like cats and dogs. :)

Anyway, I ordered one cavy tent and one large fleece tunnel from him on a Sunday morning then paid the evening of the same day. Orders take 2-3 days excluding shipping. I received my items on a Thursday afternoon. :)

Review: Instax Mini 50s - Because film is fun :)

If you're one of my Instagram followers, then you may have already seen my post regarding my new gadget. My sweet boyfriend bought it for me to make me happy and because he loves me. Haha.

When the Instax mini 50s arrived last night, I was very happy and excited but all I could do was look at it and press the buttons. I wasn't able to buy a pack of film beforehand. The next day, I bought 1 box of Instax mini film from my friend (Thanks, Charli!), went home immediately after class and took pictures.

Review: Lander Nail Polish Remover (Acetone Free)

QUICK REVIEW

This is just a quick review on this nail polish remover. I bought this a year ago and I never got to really use it. I like the fact that it's acetone free and non drying but it doesn't remove nail polish very well.

Product Review: Braun Silk- Epil Xpressive Model 7681

Hi! As promised, I'm going to do a review on my new epilator. After weeks of waiting, I finally got it last week from Carefreeshopper. It was a preorder so I knew that it would take time before arriving.

Dose of Hexose

I've always wanted to try Tous Les Jours' french macarons but I don't have time to go to their stores. I asked my mom to buy me one because I've been craving for days. I was surprised to see that my mom bought a lot! Happy girl!

My mom said they had two kinds of macarons - the regular ones (green ribbon) and the premium (brown ribbon). She bought both so we could compare the taste. The premium ones were more expensive but that's because they have a special filling inside. I don't know what it's called though. Hihi.

Everything was delicious but my favorite flavors were chocolate and blueberry. :)

Each set of the premium ones is priced at Php 190. Very affordable! :)

I'm currently munching on these sweets as I type this post. They're so delicious! :) They also have cakes and other sweets. Gaah. Next time I'll buy their strawberry shaped cake. :D

Thanks for reading!

Playing with my Copics

Hiiii! In my previous post, I said that I bought 6 Copic Sketch Markers from Artmedia Trading. Well, I bought another 12 markers and I was, and still am, happy to play with these markers. But I do admit that I'm still having difficulty using them. I like the post-color effect it gives but it's difficult to blend them. Haha. I really need to be fast or the ink would dry up on the paper. Nevertheless, I'm still going to practice. :)

I'm going to make a different post on my new Copic Sketch Markers. For this post, I'm just going to share my failed attempts to try Copics. Hahaha. :) Hopefull, you, my readers, would also try to venture into this hobby especially if you're into crafts and arts. :)

This was actually my first drawing. Haha. I was so tired of studying so I figured I'd draw something on my notebook and this was the result.

Second drawing is still on my notebook. Haha. I was studying Biochemistry that time. Third one is a chibi me? Haha.

This is my fourth drawing. It's supposedly my boyfriend. He's so addicted to computer games. Haha. I know I messed up his hair but we all have to start somewhere, right? :)

Fifth drawing is....IDK. Haha. I was listening to my professor's lecture on Lipid Metabolism and I guess I got bored. Haha.

For the last two drawings, I was already using my new markers. :) I promise I'll make a separate post for them.

I have to get back to studying now. Haha. :)

Copic Markers are still from Artmedia Trading on Facebook. :) Thank you Jacky! :)

Copic markers were bought with my own money so now I'm poor. Haha.

Coloring my life: Copic Sketch Markers and Prismacolor

For those who are into drawing or anything related to it, Copic Markers are very popular. The markers utilize permanent, non-toxic, alcohol-based ink and they are very good in achieving that anime-ish color.

Sorry I've been away~

Hey there everyone! I'm really sorry if I haven't posted anything for a while. Medicine school has been keeping me busy these past months. I really don't have time to blog. Next week will be our second long exams and I have to study so many things. I'll have a 2-week break on October and I will most probably blog again by that time. :) I really miss doing my nails. When I'm already able to manage my time, I'll blog again with my nail arts and product reviews.

I bought an epilator from Amazon. I think it's a really good investment if you are hairy like me. Haha. Another product that I got is the Instax Mini 50s. I don't have those two items yet, but expect a review once they arrive. :) (The Instax Mini 50s is actually my boyfriend's gift for me. So sweet.)

Anyway, I have to get back to reading my books. :)  Bye! :)

NOTD: Floral Nails

Hey ho! It's been a long time since I made a nail art post. I was busy and, at the same time, lazy. Haha. In addition, I still haven't got my laptop's charger fixed. Finally, I was able to find time and inspiration to paint my nails. I was feeling very girly today so I decided to do a floral nail art.

Product Review: Strip It! Sugaring Kit

Hello!( ´ ▽ ` )οΎ‰

My laptop's charger has gone crazy so I'm going to use my iPad until I could get it fixed. Lately, I've been searching about good hair removal products. I've tried depilatory creams but they always leave a dark shadow beneath the skin. So, that's a big no especially if it's used for the underarms. Ugly black pigments. Haha. I also tried shaving but the results only look good when I use it for my legs, not for my underarms. I also have an epilator and it does its job. Think of it as a device with 50 tweezers. Haha. Yes, it's very painful and the device is expensive. But if you can afford one, why not? Anyway, I have also tried waxing but I sometimes get too lazy to go to the salon.

My Clarisonic Mia

Ayo! It's been a long time since my last post. I just didn't know what to post. I had so many nail art ideas but I was either too busy or too lazy to do them or post about them. Haha. I was busy with med school requirements, too. Yup, you read it right. :) I'm going to med school this June. Wish me luck!

Anyway, last year, I was very lucky to win myself a Clarisonic Mia from Topaz Horizon's giveaway. :) Lucky me! Haha. Thank you, Miss Frances for choosing me. I've always wanted my own Clarisonic but it's too expensive. One unit costs around $100. So yeah, I really consider myself lucky. This is the most expensive thing I've ever won.

They have a lot of colors to choose from but I got the pink one. I was only able to take this one picture because I was that excited to use it. But before using it, I still had to charge the unit for 24 hours. There's a yellow light that blinks at the back of the unit when it's charging, and it stops blinking when it's done. When you remove the charger, it pulses once when it's not yet fully charged, and it pulses twice when it's fully charged.

The Clarisonic Mia has a built-in timer. It automatically stops after 1 minute of using so I didn't have to worry about over-exfoliating my face. After my first use, I noticed that my face was smoother, softer and cleaner. I've been using it twice daily for a month. When it comes to acne, I had lesser breakouts but it didn't do much on my acne scars. But I did notice that the products I put on my face worked better than before. :)

Overall, the Clarisonic is a really good product and it's definitely worth the hype. I know it's expensive but it's worth its price. I've also read from some forums that some people had a breakout period during the first week or two weeks of using it. I didn't experience this and, as I've said, it even lessened my breakouts. I stand by this product and it really did good things for my face. :)

Monsters, Inc. Nail Art

I've been seeing a lot of nail art for Monsters, Inc. Most of them were of Sulley, the fluffy monster, none really of his trusted sidekick. In honor of his one-eyed assistant, I made this simple nail art tutorial.

This is the finished product. It's so cute, right? :)

Heart's Day Nail Art ♥

Hey there everyone! I was away for a few days so I wasn't able to do a Valentine's Day nail art. I'm really sorry if this is a bit late but I do hope you'll enjoy this simple nail art.

I've finally ventured into nail stamping. I was able to buy a good stamper from Just Nail. I also bought some nail polishes and some nail art goodies. If you find yourself in Manila, do visit their store in 168 Mall, Binondo. You won't regret it! :D

Anyway, here's my nail art for this love season...

Review: GEO Bambi Princess Mimi Sesame Grey

How are you guys? I'm here again with another circle lens. This time the lenses were sponsored by the lovely EyeCandy's. They offer a large variety of circle lens from different brands and, of course, with different diameters. They also offer other products such as make-up and skin care products. I really love their website. It's so princess-y and so chic! Plus, they also have a very nice customer service!

10 THINGS TO START THE YEAR RIGHT WITH SULIT.COM.PH

I think this would be the first wishlist that I'm going to make. And, do you know what's good about it? It gives my readers a chance to win Php 10,000 worth of gift certificates from Sulit.com.ph. So good, right? Continue reading this post to know how you can win that awesome prize! ^_^

I've been shopping online for quite sometime now and it has made things easier for me because the items are delivered to my house. Ironically, it also gets harder because I don't get to save my allowance. Haha. Poor me and wallet~ There are just so many things I want to buy!! T_T

Fast forward to...

...one gloomy afternoon. I was browsing my twitter account and tah-dah! I saw the answer to my shopping problem. Nuffnang and Sulit.com.ph is having a contest for all Nuffnangers. This is the second time I'm saying this but I really think Nuffnang is my fairy godmother. Haha. Last year, they had a contest about Bigbang, the most awesome KPOP group ever, and now they're having a shopping solution contest. Haha. For people who love to buy things, this is indeed a shopping solution.

Okay, okay. I'm going to stop talking too much. I'm just really excited. Haha. Can't you feel the excitement? (to the tune of 'Can you feel the love tonight?') Oh God. I think that's the worst joke everrrr. Haha!

Fine. Here's my list -- MY 10 SULIT MUST-HAVE'S. (All items are from Sulit.com.ph)

1. First one on the list is a camera flash. This one's from the brand Montana. I really hate using my camera's pop-up flash a.k.a built-in flash a.k.a flash that makes you ghostly white. It makes the colors washed out and the beauty of (me? haha. ._.) the colors doesn't get justice. With this mount flash, it will be easier to take photos of products for reviews and to take photos of events especially if it's during the night or indoors.

2. Next item is still a camera gadget. I've had my camera for 2 years and he doesn't have enough friends. Boo. T_T I think a good friend would be a ring light. Do you ever wonder how bloggers get that ring effect on their eyes? I don't know how to describe but I do hope you get my point. Haha. Xiaxue, a very popular blogger, uses it and her pictures are amazing. ^_^ However, she uses the huge ring light. This one on my wish list is just the portable one because I don't think a huge circular light bulb would look good in my room and I don't think it would really fit. Haha. Too much clutter. Plus, this portable ring light would be good for macro shots. Since I'm into nail art, this would fit perfectly!

3. I think my camera has enough friends now so I'll move on to another item. It's no longer camera related but it's still a gadget. I think this phone would be on most people's wish list. Yes, it's none other than the iPhone 5. I really want a new phone. I currently own an iPhone 3GS and I think it will die soon. It keeps on restarting and the sim card holder or whatever you call it is sort of broken. Well, it was my fault really. Haha. But yeah, I really think I need an upgrade. The flash feature is interesting and I want the front camera. It's so embarrassing to take photos of myself using the back camera because a stranger passing by or sitting in front of me would see my vanity. Maybe it's just me but I really don't want a stranger to see my photo first because sometimes I really look weird in self taken photos.

4. This would be the last gadget on my list -- a new laptop. I've had my laptop for almost 5 years and I'm sad to say that it's already giving up on me. I can no longer play online games without it crashing plus it heats up pretty bad. My boyfriend sometimes jokes that he can already cook a hard boiled egg using my laptop. How mean! *sniff* I really think I need to give it a rest. Poor, poor lappy... It has indeed served me well.

5. Now let's move on to beauty products. I only got two items here. The first one is the Sigma Brush Set. I've been dying to get my hands on these brushes ever since I've read reviews about them and different Youtube gurus raving about them. I love make up. But I think one can only go so far with few tools. But with these Sigma brushes, I know I can do a a lot of looks. Well, I wanted to buy cheaper brush sets but I thought I'd just opt for the Sigma one because it would be like a 'one time, big time' deal. I wouldn't have to purchase any other brush set. Hopefully.

6. Second beauty product is the expensive and famous  Urban Decay NAKED palette. I wonder why it's called Naked. It's not really Naked. Haha. I know it's a stupid question. Moving on... This palette consists of very pigmented eye shadows which are very versatile. It can be used for a simple every day look or for a glamorous party look. All of my favorite Youtube make-up guru use this palette and I just got to try it myself! What's good about this palette is it comes with a brush and an eye primer. And, from what I've read Urban Decay's primer potion is the best and it really works wonders for eye make-ups.

7. As some of you may know, I own a guinea pig and her name is Name. I know it's stupid naming my guinea pig Name, or any pet for that matter. My boyfriend gave her the name. Sometimes, I think my boyfriend is such a troll. XD Going back, my guinea pig needs a new home. I've been searching around and I saw this person selling fleece tunnels. Surprisingly, that's what I've been looking for. Fleece tunnels are tunnels made out of fleece. Haha. No seriously. It is. I really don't know how to describe it. It's like a cave made out of cloth or something like that. Anyway, I've read that guinea pigs like fleece tunnels and since I love my little guinea pig, I figured this would be great for her. I know the ad says hedgehog tunnels but I think the tunnel has enough space for my guinea pig to fit in it.

8. My next item is actually for my mom. She has a reflux disorder. The doctor advised her to keep her bed upright to prevent the food from going back up. I really want my mom to feel better so I think this recliner would suit her pretty well.

9. Next item is a takoyaki maker! I'm such a fan of Kimdao, a makeup blogger and youtuber. I saw her video making a takoyaki and I loved it! I never knew that takoyaki are so easy to make. Plus, I think this would be great for me since I really don't know how to cook. My cooking skills are just non-existent. With this appliance, I believe I would feel like a chef, even for just a while. Haha.

10. Okay. This last item is a bit trivial but please don't judge me. Haha. As many of you don't know, I love playing online games. Currently, I'm addicted to Dragon Nest and my character is oh so pooooor. Haha. I want to have really cool clothes and items and I can have that by purchasing Cherry Credits. These are the money you have in the game. You can use it to buy items like clothes, pets and other things. Haha.

Whew~! What a long post. Haha. I really think I talk a lot. ^_^

As promised, I will share to my readers how they're going to get the chance to win Php 10,000 worth of Sulit.com.ph GC's.

You just have to write the following information in the comments section below:
1. Full Name:
2. Facebook Profile URL or Twitter ID
3. Your very own list of 10 Sulit Must Have's and the link (no explanation needed)
Here's an example of the what you'll post below.

That's it for this post and I can't wait to read your wish lists! ^_^

How I celebrated my birthday

Hey there everyone! I know this is a late post but I just want to share to you how I celebrated my birthday. It was just a simple celebration with my boyfriend. We went out to eat in a Korean Restaurant called Somang Kimchi. I just love Korean food. I love how generous they are with their appetizers. Unlimited refills! But of course we don't abuse it. :)

We ordered squid bulgogi and a soup that I forgot the name. (sorry!)

Everything tasted so good! If you haven't tried Korean food, I'd recommend that you should! Anyway, I also got a cake from Tepan (my boyfriend). I'm so happy because it's my favorite cake...BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE! Yay!
Just look at all the blueberries!
Let's eat!
He also surprised me with his birthday gift for me. For months, I've been looking for the Vince's Life Trilogy and sad to say I couldn't find it. I was really surprised that he was able to find a copy of the 3 books! He wouldn't tell me how he got them and I know he doesn't like online shopping but he really made me a happy bunny :D

It's a love story written by a guy and it's based on true events. The story is very simple. Not too melodramatic and it doesn't dwell much on the mushy side of love. It's really great to read a love story in a guy's point of view. I definitely recommend this book!

After we ate at Somang Kimchi, we went to the mall to watch Life of Pi -- RICHARD PARKER! We still had a few hours before the movie started so we went to White Hat to grab a cup of yogurt. My boyfriend's not a fan of yogurt so I did all the eating while he slept. Haha. I don't really mind.

This was taken after I woke him up.

Fast forward after the movie...

Yes, I enjoyed the movie. It was funny and at the same time filled with meaning and insight. Now, I want a pet bengal tiger. Haha!

I really enjoyed my birthday. I know it was just a simple celebration but it was really worth remembering. Oh right! I also got gifts from my parents and I'll do a separate post on that. :D

Thank you for reading!
