How I celebrated my birthday

Hey there everyone! I know this is a late post but I just want to share to you how I celebrated my birthday. It was just a simple celebration with my boyfriend. We went out to eat in a Korean Restaurant called Somang Kimchi. I just love Korean food. I love how generous they are with their appetizers. Unlimited refills! But of course we don't abuse it. :)

We ordered squid bulgogi and a soup that I forgot the name. (sorry!)

Everything tasted so good! If you haven't tried Korean food, I'd recommend that you should! Anyway, I also got a cake from Tepan (my boyfriend). I'm so happy because it's my favorite cake...BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE! Yay!
Just look at all the blueberries!
Let's eat!
He also surprised me with his birthday gift for me. For months, I've been looking for the Vince's Life Trilogy and sad to say I couldn't find it. I was really surprised that he was able to find a copy of the 3 books! He wouldn't tell me how he got them and I know he doesn't like online shopping but he really made me a happy bunny :D

It's a love story written by a guy and it's based on true events. The story is very simple. Not too melodramatic and it doesn't dwell much on the mushy side of love. It's really great to read a love story in a guy's point of view. I definitely recommend this book!

After we ate at Somang Kimchi, we went to the mall to watch Life of Pi -- RICHARD PARKER! We still had a few hours before the movie started so we went to White Hat to grab a cup of yogurt. My boyfriend's not a fan of yogurt so I did all the eating while he slept. Haha. I don't really mind.

This was taken after I woke him up.

Fast forward after the movie...

Yes, I enjoyed the movie. It was funny and at the same time filled with meaning and insight. Now, I want a pet bengal tiger. Haha!

I really enjoyed my birthday. I know it was just a simple celebration but it was really worth remembering. Oh right! I also got gifts from my parents and I'll do a separate post on that. :D

Thank you for reading!

Hard candies that you should get

Do you ever get tired of eating boring looking candies? When I was in Power Plant Mall in Makati a few days ago, I saw the cutest candies I've ever seen in my life.

The store is called Made in Candy. They are really creative with their candies. You can even have them customized. How cool is that? Their candies come in jars and packs. I bought two small jars and 1 pack. I actually thought that these sweets are great for pasalubong and gifts or giveaways in a wedding or a birthday. :)

When I was choosing what to buy (there are so many designs to choose from), they gave out candies for taste test. I think I got the Ford design and it tasted like grapes. I really love how creative they are with these things.

When I return there, I'll definitely buy more! :)

We bought a crocodile!

Okay. We didn't.

Last Saturday, my boyfriend, Tepan, and I went to Davao Crocodile Park. It's a tourist spot here in Davao. I have actually been there three times. The first time I went there, I was just a child so I don't really remember anything. Haha. The second time was with my cousins but we weren't able to see the shows. So now, I was finally able to see the shows (and remember them). The entrance fee is really affordable at Php 150.00 considering the fact that you actually get to see a lot of things and you get to be 'one with nature'.

We went there around 1 in the afternoon and the shows didn't start until 4. So we just went around the place. I took pictures of the crocodiles and the different animals that were there.
Look at how cute this crocodile sleeps~ ^_^

I think he (or she) is looking for something...

I did mention above that it's my third time to go here, right? Well, it's actually my boyfriend's first time. Haha. He has been a resident of Davao since he was born but only now was he able to visit this place. So cute~

He really enjoyed looking at them though they weren't really moving. :)

When we went to the tigers, I never expected to have so much fun. Of all the zoos I've been through, this was the first time that the tiger was running around and chasing us. Well, not literally of course. The tiger was just inside the cage but he was following us. I'm not sure if he wanted to play with us...or eat us.

The tiger's looking at Tepan who is on the other side.

I think they're already friends. Haha.

The place also had other animals like snakes, guinea pigs (so cute~), monkeys, deer, turtles, parrots and a lot more.

Oh, look! It's a turtle on a turtle! :)

When it was already 4 in the afternoon, we sat near their 'Wildlife Arena' and waited for the emcee. The first part was about birds. I don't know the names of the birds but they were really smart. They did some cool tricks like throwing the garbage and playing basketball.

The second part was called 'Pangil Encounter'. Pangil is 18-feet long and is the second largest crocodile in the Philippines. The trainor would poke him with a stick and he would whip his tail and the pool was filled with water. To those unlikely ones, they got wet. Good thing, we were at the other side. :)

The third part of the show was feeding the crocodiles. I wasn't able to take a picture during that time because I was taking a video of it. The juvenile crocodiles were chasing the meat. Gaah. I was afraid that they would bite the leg of the personnel. -_- The fourth part was called 'Crocodile Dancing'. They would hang a chunk of meat above the crocodiles and they would try to get it.

For the last part of the show, the staff were walking on the ropes above the crocodiles. I didn't take a photo because it was already raining and I didn't want to get my camera wet. :P

The Php 150.00 also includes entrance to the butterfly garden. It was really fun to see them flying around with such beautiful colors.

The entrance fee paid also includes a ticket to a fire dance show at night. However, we decided not to watch it because we didn't have a car and it was difficult to find a taxi. Nevertheless, the 150 pesos that we paid was really worth it. I really had fun! :)

If ever you find yourself in Davao, don't forget to visit this place. :) You won't regret it!

Spotted Glitter Mani

I've been seeing patterns of dots and glitters lately so I figured I'd make a nail art with those patterns. This nail art is easy to do especially if you have longer nails. Sad to say, I don't have long nails but I was still able to do the mani.

Here's a picture of the nail art.

Products used:
Cutex Base Coat
LA Girl Disco Brites - Phenomenon
Cutex Pure Cotton
Skin Food Nail Vita PK201
Etude House Dear Darling PK021

Now let's start with the tutorial~

1. Start by prepping your nails. Apply your favorite base coat. Then, paint your nails black. I used two coats of LA Girl Disco Brites Phenomenon.

2. Using a dotting tool or the tip of a bobby pin, add white dots. Evenly space them out so they won't look weird.

3. Using a striper or a toothpick, draw a black curved line across your nails and fill in the space.

4. With your pink polish, apply it to the tips of your nails (the one that you painted black). This would serve as your base color. Make sure that you don't paint everything. A black line must still be visible.

5. Using a pink glittery polish, apply it over the pink polish. Add your favorite top coat and you're done! :)

It's pretty easy, right? I hope this tutorial was able to help you! :) If ever you tried this nail art, let me know how it worked out for you. :D

By the way, in 3 days, it will be my birthday! :) Yay! I have a surprise for my readers especially those who love to wear circle lenses. :D Anyway, I'll announce it on Saturday! Bye~
