Joined a nail art contest

Hey everyone! I really joined a nail art contest here in the Philippines. They are giving away many awesome prizes. There are a lot of amazing entries and I believe everyone has an equal chance to win. One of the awards they are giving is the "People's Choice Award" and it's based on the number of likes.

If you have time to spare, please like my entry.

First step: You have to like their Facebook page (Beauty Kingdom).
Second step: Like my entry here: Summer Queen

I used freehand technique for all the details. :) I hope you'll help me.

Swatch: GirlStuff Forever - Tangerine Burst

Here's a quick swatch post for you. :)

This nail polish is from GirlStuff Forever. Their polishes are very affordable (Php 100-150) and they dry really fast :)

I used two thin coats and no top coat. :) Photos were taken under artificial light.

Sweet tooth

Hey everyone!

Here's another nail art for you. :) I really love cakes, chocolates, cupcakes and anything sweet so I decided to recreate my previous cupcake nail art

My base is piCture pOlish - Frosting. I used stamping decal technique for the cupcake using MoYou London Pro 04. Colors used for the cupcake are FolkArt metallic acrylic paints.

Valentine's Day nail art

Hi! It's almost hearts' day so I decided to make a nail art for that occasion. This is my first attempt to do stamping decals. I never thought it was so difficult to do decals. Haha.

I have messed up a few details and some colors were outside the lines. Maybe it would have been easier if I used acrylic paint. -_-

For the flower decal, I used MoYou London Pro Collection 04. For the hearts pattern on my thumb and pinky finger, I used FUN 07. I used GirlStuff Forever in Masquerade as base. I also did some freehand writing on my index finger. :)

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket

I grew up with the idea that wishing on a shooting star would make my wish come true. It just came to a point when I realized that it isn't true. However, it's still fun to witness falling stars (or meteor showers or whatever you call them) and have that tiny hope that whatever you want will come true. But, it could have been an airplane passing by or even a firefly! That could explain why my wish didn't come true. Haha.

Kidding aside, I came across a Nuffnang post with a question "If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift?"

Honestly, I think this is a very difficult question. Because with all the drama going on, I wish the Philippines would finally move forward. I believe this country has a lot to offer. There are a lot of awesome places to go to especially the beaches. But, it's sad that there are Filipinos who don't see how awesome this country is. I admit that sometimes I can't help but compare to other countries how they have this or that. The sad and painful reality is that we are in a third world country. But I don't think that should stop us from ever advancing to a modern world (yes, I think we are still stuck somewhere in the ghost of country's past).

Going back to the Nuffnang post, Globe Telecom is now the shooting star that will grant the wish of one lucky winner through their #GLOBEProjectWonderful2014. Technically, the lucky winner will be the Philippines. :)

I want the Philippines to have a cleaner environment. The sight of trash everywhere is painful to look at. So my wish is that #GLOBEProjectWonderful2014 will pioneer a recycling campaign same as how Japan recycles their trash.

I did my research and found this photo (from Japan Containers and Packaging Recycling Association). They have laws and processes on how they keep their country clean. Maybe we can also do this. I believe Globe has the resources to do this.

That's my wish. And for my lovely readers, I have a question for you.

What do you want for the Philippines? :)

Comment your answer below and get a chance to win an iPad Mini 2. :)

Failed houndstooth

You might be curious why I chose that title for this post. Last Monday, I wore a jacket with a houndstooth print and I thought I should stamp my current mani with a houndstooth image. I got my MoYou London Pro Collection 04, thinking that it has a houndstooth image which is the reason I bought the plate. I scraped the excess black polish, used my squishy XL stamper and stamped the image on my ring finger. I was so happy for the first few minutes but when I stared too long at my nail, I realized that it was not a houndstooth image. What a bummer! :(

It was not MoYou London's fault. It was my fault. They posted the correct image on their website and I did not check it properly. Haha. Nevertheless, I still think this nail art turned out okay. :)

Swatch: Lush Lacquer - Rosies Posies

Finally, exams are finished. Two more months until summer break! Yay! However, summer means no allowance; thus, no money to buy new bottles of nail polish. :(

I'm actually thinking of ways on how I could earn money during the break. I might start selling handmade nail decals or patterns like chevron patterns. I'll keep you guys updated.

Now, on to my swatch. This shade is from Lush Lacquer called 'Rosies Posies'. I like that this polish is full of different colored neon glitters with different shapes. There are hexagonal, circular and straight(?) glitters on a white base.

I used two coats then sealed it with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. It was difficult to take a proper photo of this polish. The photos do not give justice to how glittered this is.
